Raiders U11 Girls Red bring home the top prize in this years Blackwatch Labor Day Tournament.
After a short period of team training the Raider’s girls came out looking strong. Saturday morning started with a 4 - 1 victory over the Palm Bay Fury. Later that evening after rain delays, the girls put together another great effort under the lights defeating the Gainesville Glory by a score of 4 - 1.
Sunday morning was a great challenge by the Brandon Flames, but the Raiders defense held tough to bring home another victory with a score of 4 - 2. The Raider girls, now undefeated, had clinched the opportunity to play in the Labor Day Championship game on Monday. Sunday night was a great battle of the defense between the Raiders and the West Pasco Thunder. The Sunday night game ended in a 1 - 0 loss for the Raiders with a Monday high-noon rematch for the championship with which they could look forward.
Monday’s Championship game was again a defensive battle with the Raiders scoring first. West Pasco evened up the score prior to the second half water break. The Raiders again took the lead with about 10 minutes remaining. The Raider defense then turned back a number of runs by West Pasco and finished the Championship game on top with a 2 - 1 victory.
Great Job Raiders!!!
