2010 Tops Soccer dates, March 27 to May 1st
from 5-6 p.m. at Puryear Park.
Tops Soccer is a soccer program designed specifically for children with special needs.
Volunteer coaches and buddies who help the players are extremely important to the success of this program. We are always looking for new players and volunteers. It’s a great service opportunity for kids, ages 9 and up. It’s a fun way for high schoolers to earn community service hours too! If you would like to volunteer as a buddy, contact Karen Thompson kmt86@earthlink.net or Abby Rudderham rudderham2@netzero.net
TOPSoccer Program
Volunteers Needed!
TOPSoccer is a soccer program designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl who has a mental or physical disability.
This program relies on youth volunteers known as “buddies” to assist with the general ball handling skills and movement around the fields. In essence, “buddies” help these kids experience the joy and camaraderie that comes with being a part of a team.
Buddies are boys and girls of all ages. A Buddy is assigned to each of the children, and these kids bond quickly with their buddy, so please only volunteer if you can commit to at least 5 of the 6 Saturdays.
This is an excellent opportunity for you or your child to experience the rewards of giving your time to appreciative kids and families.
The Everton TOPSoccer program will begin on
Saturday, March 27,-May 1, 2010 at Jack Puryear fields from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.
If you or your child would like to be a “buddy” or need more information on the program, please contact Karen or Alex Thompson @ 579-0472 (kmt86@earthlink.net) or Abby Rudderham @ 527-5096 (rudderham2@tampabay.rr.com) .
