Spring Soccer
3V3 for all!

Spring Soccer will be the 3V3 format for all - for both competitive players (World Division) and recreational players (National Division).

December 1 - December 31, 2008 - Online registration - $80
January 1 - February 7, 2009 Online and in-person registration Monday - Friday in the clubhouse - $90
February 7 - Online and in-person registration as spots are available - $105.

National Division - Recreational payers (register under spring recreational soccer and your proper age group)

Spring Soccer dates:
National Division - Thursday, March 19, 2009 to Sunday, May 17, 2009.  Games will be played on Thursday, Friday and Sunday evenings.
World Divison - Tuesday, March 17 - Tuesday, May 12, 2009.  All games on Tuesday evening.
2nd Annual Ray Chassereau Tournament the week of May 11, 2008 (round robin friendly tournament - way too much fun!)

A few items of interest:

  • Teams may be coed depending on the number of players registered.
  • If competitive teams are still in Regin Cup/State Cup your games will be rescheduled once you are done with Region C Cup.
  • U5 and U6 players will practice for a 1/2 hour before their games and then play.
  • Parents will be expected to volunteer in the concession stand.  Each team will be given a date/time to help in the concession.

 

Technical Training
New ideas for the new year!

Technical Training for competitive players will begin again on Friday, January 12th - Sunday, March 1st.

Technical training will take place every Friday evening at 6:30 pm and Sunday afternoon starting at 3:30 pm.  We will have three groupings - they are as follows:
U9 - U11
U12 - U14
U15 and Up

The training sessions will run simaltaneously, but they will be three separate sessions.  The first 20 minutes of each session will be individual coerver training, turns, moves focused on retaining possession, beating the defender, etc...  The second 20 minutes will be 1 vs 1 or 2 vs 2 games to incorporate the moves into a game like situation.  The third 20 minutes will be 4 vs 4 using small goals to create a game like condition to practice the moves in a game situation.

Recreational Goalkeeper Training

We are excited to announce that we will offer goalkeeper training for our recreational goalkeepers.

When: Wednesday evening's
Time: 7:30 - 8:15 for the U10 players
           8:15 - 9:00 for players u12 and Up

All recreational Goalkeepers are welcome.

RE: Club Soccer
I would like to welcome you all back from your summer vacations and give you a brief update as to our first year as Everton FL.
 
I now feel comfortable with releasing our numbers for club soccer. I have waited until now as I wanted to be sure of our total numbers for season 2008-09. It is with great excitement that I inform you as club members our numbers have increased by 138 players season 2007-08!

Swiss UEFA A Licence Coach trains Everton Fl, U-17/18's

Ex -Swiss Olympic club Berne Manager Philippe Niederhauser made a guest appearance last night and was able to host a session for both our U-17 boys and Girls teams.

For further education purposes Paris is looking to bring in Roy Miller the Director of the the Irish FA Association to Everton FL in January 09. A date will be posted when this had been agreed.
Competitive Coaches Needed

The Executive Director Everton FL (www.evertonFL.com) is actively looking for qualified coaching candidates to become members of our coaching staff for the 2008- 2009 season. Current staff includes:

UEFA “A” Licensed Coach
4 Collegiate coaches
3 former professional soccer players
Several Nationally qualified coaches (NSCAA/ USSF)

Our affiliation with Everton FC of the EPL makes Everton FL a great club in the Tampa Bay area. In addition to following “The Everton Way” curriculum, coaches also have access to online training sessions used at EFC and also the potential to go to England and spend a week observing and learning from professional coaches in the Everton Academy. We are looking for coaches who have received their National C license or equivalent, have a strong background in the game, as a player or coach.
